Individuals who have experienced acute or chronic trauma often feel confused about their own experiences and struggle with trusting themselves and others. It can be scary and disorienting. Therapy can help bring healing.
I have taken a special interest in trauma. Many of my clients have experienced a specific trauma whether as a result of being in military combat, surviving sexual assault, or a traumatic loss. Trauma can be long-lasting or prolonged, and symptoms of anger, anxiety, and hyper-vigilance are often a result from abuse in childhood or adulthood. Emotional, physical, and sexual abuse leave deep scars, and often leave people feeling confused about their own experiences. This may lead to their struggle with trusting themselves and others. Therapy can bring clarity, calm, and hope.
